SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
The Easton Area High School Symphony Orchestra is composed of seventy-five strings and a full compliment of winds, brass and percussion. This ensemble rehearses on school time as well as after school or evenings. To be selected to the ensemble the students must audition in the Spring of each year. The ensemble performs two major concerts each year; a Holiday Concert in December and a Pops Concert in Spring. The orchestra also competes in local and state-wide competitions (most recently the Council Rock Orchestra Festival in May , 2010) and performs at various community events.
CHAMBER STRINGS
The Easton Area High School Chamber Strings is composed of 19 auditioned young men and women. The elite string ensemble auditions each year and rehearses a minimum of one after school rehearsal a week, with additional sectional time. All members are also members in the high school Symphony Orchestra and/or String Ensemble. The group competes in local and state festivals, and plays for community events and school functions
The EAHS Chamber Strings has traveled to Copenhagen, Denmark in May of 2005 to perform and to Flensburg, Germany in September of 2006. .
STRING ENSEMBLE
The 9th grade string ensemble is composed of twenty-five students and rehearses on school time. The students work on furthering their expertise on their instrument via string ensemble and string quartet music. This ensemble also performs at the Holiday and Pops Concert. All members audition in Spring for this group.
