About the IMA

The Instrumental Music Association (IMA) is a non-profit fundraising organization that provides organizational and financial support to the EAHS Instrumental Music Department and its director by funding projects and purchasing instrumental-related items not funded by the Easton Area School District.

About the Instrumental Music Department

The Instrumental Music Department at Easton Area High School serves approximately 375 students across both band and orchestra courses. Accomplishments of the Instrumental Music Department include performing in the:

  • Presidential Inauguration of George W. Bush in Washington, DC (2005)
  • Bridgepoint Holiday Education Bowl in San Diego, CA (2010)
  • Orange Bowl in Miami, FL (2014)
  • Fiesta Bowl in Phoenix, AZ (2017)

The high school wind ensemble recently commissioned a piece for wind band in 2018 by Dr. Travis Weller titled “Triumphant Flourishes.” In December 2019, the orchestra and marching band will travel to Orlando, FL and Jacksonville, FL for a performance in Universal Studios and at the 2020 Gator Bowl, respectively.

The Easton Area School District supports twenty-one music educators across the school district and two instrumental music teachers at the high school.

The Ensembles

At Easton Area High School (EAHS), three concert bands and two orchestras rehearse during the school day. Extra curricular ensembles include Jazz Lab, Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Strings, Pit Orchestra, and Pep Band.

Concert Band

  • 10th-12th grade concert band
  • Wind ensemble
  • 9th grade concert band
  • All students involved in the concert band program are also involved in the marching band.

Orchestra

  • 10th-12th grade symphonic orchestra
  • 9th grade orchestra.
